PRAYER FOR THE GENERAL CHAPTER
Lord, we entrust to you our Congregation,
which is preparing to celebrate its 24th General Chapter.
We thank you
for everything you have accomplished in the life of our Congregation,
through Cardinal Lavigerie and Mother Marie-Salomé,
and through all those many women of faith, our sisters who have gone before us.
We bless you, Lord, for our charism,
a gift of the Spirit to the Church for the whole creation.
It is a leaven of unity for this Body which we form.
Grant us to remain faithful to it.
You, who invite us to incarnate this charism
in a global and interconnected world,
increase in us our faith and a strong attachment
to Jesus, our Master, and to his Mission.
You send us to hasten, together with Him, the birthing of a reconciled creation,
help us to commit ourselves, with others, to meet this challenge,
in a spirit of interdependence and solidarity with the whole humanity.
Increase in us a spirit of discernment
so that the celebration of our Chapter-event may be taken in the movement of your Spirit.
Open us to his inspirations
so that we shall be renewed in depth in view of the Mission
and be strengthened in our sense of belonging to the Congregation.
Our Lady of Africa,
you, who are accompanying us since our beginnings,
remain with us.
