OUR APOSTOLIC PRIORITIES

deco_orange_prior

It is our consecration to God for Africa
which gives meaning to our whole life
. p 38

Mission is at the heart of our lives. It is ONE wherever we are. Commitments can take different forms, be they apostolates outside, or internal services of the congregation.
For many of our sisters, mission no longer consists of activities. … Our senior sisters have a specific contribution to offer.
They are called in a special way to be signs of the values of contemplation, interiority, gratuity, which all of us musty nurture throughout our whole lives. p.50

Orientations to guide our apostolic choices today

Faced with immense and urgent world needs, we need to discern where and how to incarnate our mission today. We underline three calls which have been present since our foundation …
They can guide us in the apostolic choices we have to make:

Today, there are still millions of Africans who do not know Jesus Christ or who have lost their Christian bearings. First evangelization remains a priority for us. While collaborating with the local Churches, we remain attentive to privilege areas where the Gospel values are absent.

In these present times, when tensions between Christians and Moslems are growing, we need to intensify our efforts for Islamo-Christian dialogue. Collaboration with believers of other religions is an essential step on the way towards peace and reconciliation.

Situations of injustice, distress, violence and exclusion are on the increase. New forms of slavery are developing. Following the example of our founder, Cardinal Charles Lavigerie (see Our Founders), we are called to find efficient ways to fight the root causes of these abuses.
