Take responsibility for what you say and feel without blaming others.
Choose empathic listening
Be sensitive to the different communication styles
Take time to reflect on what you feel and what you hear before intervening
Examine your prejudices and perceptions
Guard confidentiality
Take advantage of ambiguities because we are not there to find out who is wrong and who is right
To live in an international and intercultural community can be learned. This is built with steps going forward and steps going backward. There are many joys and also some necessary forgiveness.
During our early years of formation to religious missionary life, we learn how to discover the richness of our cultures, languages, different countries. We also learn to communicate in a respectful manner.
