On April 30, 2022 in Goma, DRC – Sharing of Pascaline Katungu
“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will be our messenger?’ And I answered: ‘Here I am: send me!’” Is 6, 8-9
Yes, the voice of the Lord resounded in my heart, he called me from my mother’s womb. Today I say a definite yes to his call. Since childhood, I have felt within me the desire to follow Christ more closely in religious life. He alone prepared the ground. He shaped me through my biological family, teachers, priests and catechists, neighbours and all the people God put on my path. Then he formed me through the sisters of my religious family. Since 2005, the year when I first started to visit the MSOLA, until today. I give thanks to God!
It pleased God to call me to be among these elected apostles of the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Africa and to give myself totally to Him. Praise his name! The word of our Founder which confirmed his call to the MSOLA and which remains engraved in my heart is this: “be an apostle, be only that or at least nothing except for that purpose”. This is how on April 30, 2022, the date of my final commitment, I allowed myself to be consecrated until death to Christ and to the service of his mission. I answered freely “Here I am my Lord, send me”. This passage of scripture marks my dialogue with the Lord, his call to me and my response to him. I am grateful for his infinite love for me and his trust in me. I trust him too. Yes, he alone gives me the ability to belong to him through his love. As I walk in the footsteps of Christ, I am ready to collaborate with my sisters to announce his good news to our African brothers and sisters.
“Our Lady of Africa, our mother continues to intercede for us and for the peoples to whom we are sent”.
