Monday, October 24th, was a feast day in Cartierville!
Of the 21 Jubilarians of our Entity, 14 were physically present, led by our centenarian, Sr Gisèle Dubois!
Sr Lise Giguère came from Beauport, thanks to Mrs Bénédicte Lasselin, their accompanist. We were also happy to welcome Sr Marcelle Morin from Ottawa and Sr Felicia Nowak from Winooski.
And we also remembered Sr Françoise Bruneau who died on June 10th this year.
On entering the Providence Hall, an autumn ambiance surrounded us with a shimmer of colours, ochre and bronze, carrying us away in a dance of tones. The beautiful layout of the centerpieces invited us to gather around these well-prepared tables, with tablecloths and napkins bearing the names of the jubilarians.
Also note the small corsage bouquets for each of the jubilarians. Indeed, a lot of imagination and affection have gone into this celebration.
To the left of the altar, a panel announced the theme of the jubilee:
“I have chosen you so that you bear fruit” under which appeared the photos of the jubilarians surrounding the names of the 22 African congregations issued from the MSOLA.
Father Julien Cormier, MAfr, celebrated the Eucharist and gave the homily while involving the audience.
The songs alternated wonder and recognition: “How beautiful are your works”, “Amazed by so much love, how can we tell you our joy? ”
And it was to the rhythm of the drum animated by Sr Gratienne Ndizeye that John Littleton sent us even further: “because the road is still long, towards fraternity and the horizon of friendship… go further“!
The renewal of vows from the 60th to the 75th year reiterated our desire to “collaborate in the work of God for the proclamation of his Kingdom in Africa… bound together as sisters in the same vocation… entrusting ourselves to the fidelity of God and the prayer of the Church. »
Our sisters said: “How can we ever thank Mrs. Mélanie Nantel and her collaborators, Mrs. Josée Beaudet and Mrs. Brigitte Morin for the organization and the unfolding of this celebration of which we will keep a luminous memory? Really! our MSOLA family remains as alive as ever with the contribution of their loving and devoted presence. Thousands thanks to the three of you!”
