From Sister Kandongo Kibole Yollande, on mission in Chad
With a heart full of gratitude, I share the profound joy I experienced on the day of my perpetual profession.
My life, received as a gift, I have offered to the Lord, the Master of all. In trust and serenity, I approached his altar, ready to hand over my entire existence to him. Yes, I can truly affirm: there is more joy in giving than in receiving. The grace of this unique moment was granted to me. Everything unfolded in peace and in deep fraternal communion.
I felt carried by your prayers, your encouragement, and your affection. As our ritual of vows highlights, I leaned on the unconditional love of God and on the support of my sisters. With this certainty, I made my commitment in full awareness, convinced that I do not walk this path alone. This definitive commitment is for me a joy inscribed at the heart of the Catholic Church and in the universal mission.
A Perpetual Profession in a Jubilee Year
What a grace to celebrate my perpetual vows in this Jubilee Year, while the universal Church journeys as a pilgrim of Hope! My joy is all the greater because this celebration coincides with the bicentenary of the birth of Cardinal Charles Lavigerie, founder of the Missionaries of Africa and of the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Africa.
I pay tribute to my dear parents who, through their faith and blessing, showed me the way to the Church and consecrated me to the Lord. Their generosity has supported my vocation and nourishes my gratitude.
A Mission Entrusted to Our Lady of Africa
Accompanied by the assembly in prayer and by all those who followed the celebration through the media, I pronounced my perpetual vows. As the bishop reminded us, this commitment is irreversible: a choice modeled on Jesus and on the Virgin Mary.
Under the gaze of Our Lady of Africa, I entrusted my offering of life. I pray that her intercession may keep us faithful to the charism received, with an ever-passionate and renewed commitment to the peoples of Africa and of the world. Through the transforming love of the Risen Christ, may we remain steadfast in our missionary vocation.
Hope and Fidelity in the Missionary Vocation
I entrust each of my sisters to the Lord, and I give thanks for your prayers and your support. May the Lord grant us, in this year of grace marked by the Jubilee of Hope and the bicentenary of our founder, a fervent faith, more zeal, and joy in his harvest.
Finally, I give thanks for this covenant of love with the Lord. In joy, I continue my journey in his footsteps, available for his mission, confident that his fidelity will sustain me to the very end, while counting on your prayers.
