Pride and solidarity in Morocco

The “Couture – Creation” workshop is an initiative launched by our sisters, Rehema Kimesera Toiwoki and Maria Carmen Ocon Moreno, in Ouarzazate, Morocco.

During Cardinal Cristobal Lopez Romero’s visit in March 2026, the women spoke of the “transformation” experienced through this workshop.

We, the women of this workshop, wish to express our deep gratitude to the Church, as well as to our dear sisters Rehema and Maria, who have walked alongside us throughout this beautiful adventure. It is with great emotion and sincerity that we take this moment to express what lies deep within our hearts.

Since our arrival at the workshop, we have shared many wonderful moments together. We are fortunate to work with you, with the sisters, and even with our guests, all united in a warm and caring atmosphere, just like a true family.

This unique environment has made every day precious and unforgettable.

When we first arrived, we knew nothing at all: we could neither sew, nor craft pouches or bags, nor paint. Thanks to your guidance, your patience, and your generosity, we have learned a tremendous amount.

Today, when we sell a bag, a pouch, or any other creation made with our own hands, we feel an immense sense of pride and satisfaction.

And although each of us contributes in her own way, we always operate with a true spirit of teamwork and solidarity.
Working here has also given us a precious sense of independence. By working and earning our own money, we feel like free, strong, and fulfilled women. These few words – simple as they may be – reflect the deep and sincere feelings we hold toward you, and toward everything you have built for us.

We also cherish the beauty of our human relationships – despite our differences – particularly across religious lines. We feel like a true family: each of us respects the others; we interact with gentleness and kindness, and we treat one another with mutual respect and benevolence. It is this harmony that makes our workshop so special.

That is why, starting today, we have decided to commit ourselves even more deeply by creating new designs, particularly for men, in order to hone our craft, expand our skills, and help this workshop grow.

Our shared goal is to develop new collections, for both women and men, and, in the future, to transform this workshop into a renowned, thriving, and major creative hub.

We hope with all our hearts to remain with you for a long time to come, and that our beautiful relationship will last forever – because, from the bottom of our hearts, we love you.

With all our love and respect,
The Women of the Workshop
