A new missal for my daughter The ” Chapelle Lavigerie ” is located in Tunisia in the parish of St. Cyprien in Carthage. I go there regularly for mass during the week. But one evening, something important happened there! During an adoration, I said “yes” to a project that I had started a few years earlier and then dropped it. “Make me next year’s missal”. In 2018, I wanted to give a missal to my student children, a daily missal to encourage them to read the Bible. All I found were Sunday missals or perpetual missals that were very expensive and complicated to use, not at all the kind to give to students! Since I couldn’t find what I was looking for, I went to work and made this missal myself. Apostolate in the prison of Ghardaïa The welcome from the authorities in Ghardaïa is very good and we have been well received. We met the Director, who made himself available to us to ensure that the prayer service was carried out in favourable conditions while respecting the rules of the prison. Relations with the guards who allow us access to prisoners are also good, and with some even fraternal. We feel they trust us. The guards prepare a nice room for us to meet. Everyone is properly seated, and we can make a circle that helps everyone participate better. There are four attitudes that we must always maintain: humility, following the instructions given, respect for those people who are in the different prison departments, and recognition. Participating in the life of disadvantaged people
MSOLA Bunamwaya community (Kampala – Uganda) Throughout the year Sr Theopista and the prepostulants have participated regularly in praying the Rosary, the Way of the Cross and in other celebrations and activities in two special plac in our area : at Namugongo Bunamwaya and Lost City (two disadvantaged areas). These are the places where people, especially youth, addicted to drugs and alcohol, live with their families. In collaboration with Mr. Richard Yiga, the leader of laity of the subparish, we aimed at helping them in behavior change. Occasionally one or the other members of the community joined the Group. Only our presence and listening attitude made those people feel accepted, respected and loved. They were proud of having sisters interested in them and participating in celebrations organized by them. Genesis of the movement “Kizito-Anuarite” with Sister Tina and Father Andre
The group Anuarite In the years 1972-1973, youth movements were abolished in Zaire and religion classes were abolished in all schools. Miss TABU Amisa Marguerite, a catechist in Christ the King parish in the diocese of Kalemie-Kirungu, gathered children every Sunday after Mass under the mango trees, to give them a bit of joy and relaxation with dancing, games and instructions. In 1977, she asked Sister Tina Anthonissen, Missionary Sister of Our Lady of Africa, to help her to structure and expand these meetings. Sister Tina, who was had been involved with the Chiro Movement and the Eucharistic Crusade, was able to start the movement, not only for games and dances but especially for the Christian education of children and young girls. Besides the girls of Christ the King parish others joined from Mateo de Kifungo parish, St. Albert parish in Kalemie and from the parishes of Lubuye and Kaseke.…
