Mystères lumineux Lavigerie

The sisters will not forget that it is through Mary's intercession that all graces are granted, and they will have a great and filial devotion to the Blessed Virgin whom they invoke under the title of Our Lady, or Queen of Africa, their patroness and their Mother.

1. Jesus' Baptism in the Jordan:

"After Jesus was baptized, he came up from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove coming upon him. And a voice came from the heavens saying, 'This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.' " Matthew 3:16-17

I am a bishop, that is to say a father; and although those for whom I plead today (Muslims) do not give me that title, I love them as my children and I try to prove it to them; if I cannot communicate my faith, I am happy at least to practice charity towards them.

2. The Wedding Feast at Cana:

Jesus' mother told him, "They have no wine." Jesus replied: "Woman, how does your concern affect me? My hour has not yet come." His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you." John 2:3-5

Women apostles! This is what you want to give to the Church, following the example of the holy women who followed Our Lord during his life, and who after his death preached his name by their faith, by their charity and by their example.

3. The Proclamation of the Kingdom of God:

"This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe in the good news." Mark 1:15

Jesus Christ is faith, love, freedom, and light--all these good things that people seek so ardently but do not find because they seek them outside of him!

4. The Transfiguration of Jesus:

"Jesus took Peter, James and John, and led them up a high mountain, apart by themselves. And he was transfigured before them." Mark 9:2

To be an apostle, as the Holy Spirit understands and as St Paul said, is to share with others the light and grace of God.

5. The Institution of the Eucharist:

"Take it; this is my body." ...And he said: "This is my blood of the covenant which will be shed for many." Mk 14: 22, 24

Jesus Christ is not content simply to come into the heart of Mary; he still wants to come every day into our hearts, and when in Holy Communion we receive him in our souls, the same thing happens in us which happened in the heart of Mary when she received there her Divine Son.
