Among the many vocations, there is also the missionary vocation…
A Missionary Vocation is Jesus calling men and women to proclaim his Good News to the whole world.
Let them cross countless borders – their country, their culture, their family, their heart…
Go from your native land and your father’s house to the land I will show you (Genesis 12:1).
This “go, go” felt in the depths of the heart burns, urges, but fascinates at the same time. It draws you to an extraordinary adventure with the One who sends you into the unknown…
You may feel invited to go to those who do not yet know Jesus – so that they may meet him, accept him into their lives and cling firmly to him. So that he will set them free to experience his deep, intimate, transforming love, and that they in turn will run to bring it to others.
You may feel the desire to reach out to those who are suffering, who are poor; to struggle with them for a more just world, for the coming of the Kingdom of God which is beyond all borders and divisions…
It can also be an invitation to love everyone as they are, whatever the color of their skin, their religion or their social status. Like Him, to love with a universal love that knows no borders or barriers…
Although here I have my country that I love, my family, my home, my work, everything I know and that is close to me, I am ready to leave all that behind and let myself be led into the unknown…
And I am sure that Jesus is already there where he is sending me and that he has already prepared a new home and a new family for me. I have a deep desire for encounter – in mutual respect, in dialogue, in giving and receiving, in simplicity, in sincerity…
I am also ready to let myself be formed, transformed and evangelized by the brothers and sisters to whom he sends me. With them I will live and work in the presence of the One who is the source of my joy: Christ!
