Journeying Together in Mission and Transformation

From our sister Maamalifar M. Poreku, MSOLA

“Come, let us set out together on this journey of faith and transformation.”

“Let us go up to the mountain of the Lord… that He may teach us His ways and that we may walk in His paths.” (Is 2:3)

Walking Together in Faith and Mission

Rooted in the spirit of synodality and the missionary charism of the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Africa (MSOLA), this theme is an invitation to embrace a shared journey of renewal. It encourages each of us to rediscover our apostolic life as a space where personal conversion and communal transformation meet.

Through our diverse apostolates, we listen deeply—to one another, to the cries of the world, and to the gentle voice of the Spirit. Together, we discern how Christ continues to transform us for mission. Near or far, all are invited to walk on this path of hope, unity, and renewal.

A Pilgrimage of Faith, Hope, and Love

Every journey of faith begins with the courage to rise and allow ourselves to be taught anew by the Spirit. This path of transformation is not a solitary effort but a communal pilgrimage, moving together toward God’s dream for humanity and creation.

As MSOLA, we walk side by side as sisters, collaborators, and companions in God’s mission, letting our apostolates shape and transform us.

Signs of Transformation in Our Apostolates

Transformation becomes visible when we:

  • Witness Gospel values in our ministries
  • Build peace and sow hope in our communities
  • Promote ecological, social, spiritual, and communal renewal
  • Allow our mission to become a space where God’s presence heals, restores, and uplifts

To be MSOLA today is to be women on the move—rooted in God’s love yet open to the encounters and realities of our world. Our apostolates are sacred ground where God works through us as we serve others.

Mission as a Shared Journey of Listening and Discernment

This theme calls us to rediscover mission as a mutual journey: listening deeply, discerning together, and acting with compassion. Transformation is more than structural change—it is the renewal of the heart, enabling us to see with the eyes of Christ and respond with His tenderness.

This is the essence of Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation (JPIC): allowing the Gospel to shape our hearts, our communities, and our actions.

A Call to Ongoing Renewal

As we journey together—through our apostolates, prayer, and communal reflection—we commit ourselves to ongoing transformation. Each day, God calls us to respond anew.

Pope Francis reminds us:

Each day we have to decide whether to be Good Samaritans or indifferent bystanders… We cannot be content with an abstract, distant love; it calls for the transformation of our hearts and of our structures.” (Fratelli Tutti 78)

This call resonates deeply with our MSOLA mission: to embody love in action, to heal wounds, and to build bridges of hope—especially among the poor, the marginalized, and all of creation.

Prayer for Our Journey of Transformation

Lord Jesus,
As we set out together on this journey of transformation,
renew in us the joy of mission
and the courage to walk as sisters united in hope.
May our apostolates become spaces where Your love is visible,
where hearts are healed and creation is renewed.
Lead us, Lord, on the path of Your peace.
Amen
