Based on the experience I have lived with the Vocation Club, which is a group of young children aging from 7-15 years, I have discovered and I confirm that they are the best voice to evangelize the world.
A concrete example is their acting the passion of Christ on Good Friday. The presentation was so touching to the extent that some of the Christians, especially the mothers and children, after seeing the main character Jesus being stripped, mocked and crucified, began to cry. They are talented kids. It was the first time for them to act the passion of Christ since the existence of Loruvani parish. And it did not even take me and my collaborator William a long time to prepare them.
I personally was very touched when parents of the children and other Christians came to me asking how I had managed to prepare them in a short time for such an excellent performance with my limited Kiswahili. It is thanks to William who collaborates very well with the MSOLA in helping the Vocation Club to grow by giving different sessions and mobilizing the children with one spirit without any cost apart from the cost of heaven’s glory. May God bless him!
The Vocation Club is very active in carrying out different Church activities like doing the readings during mass and almsgiving. It is even now attracting back to church other children who disappeared after the sacrament of Confirmation. That alone is an achievement of one of the objectives of the group. In addition to that, the club also lives a simple life style, and visits families, especially the sick, every month. They are so passionate about doing this that sometimes they are a sound reminder to me in case I happen to forget their visit. They are also focusing on the ways of protecting the image of the church as Christians. More important also is that now they are mobilizing and campaigning against child abuse that is becoming a big challenge in Africa.
I have a feeling that if we as MSOLA work very well with the club, to some extent, their voice will be heard. The advantage is that they are more informed about the families where some of these cases exist but which it is not easy for us as sisters to to meet. As someone who is working with the club I have profited a lot from this apostolate and I have realized that our charism is deepening in Arusha Loruvani.
May the risen Lord bless you all!
